CFDRC is seeking an aerospace engineer with good experience in the development and application of CFD technology for aerospace vehicles analysis (launch vehicles, missiles and aircraft). Candidates will be expected to be capable of development, demonstration, verification and validation of algorithms and computer codes for numerical prediction of fluid dynamic phenomena relevant to aerospace vehicles analysis. Candidates may also be required to conduct aerodynamic and aerothermodynamic CFD simulations, analyze and document results and support design tasks. Strong technical writing and presentation skills, and ability to effectively communicate technical findings to managers and outside clients in government and industry is required.  

Requirements:

  • MS or PhD in Engineering (preferably Aerospace) with more than 2 years' experience
  • Experience with CFD modeling of complex geometry
  • Experience with object-oriented programming in c/c+
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • U.S. Citizen
  • Experience with shared/distributed memory parallel computing is a plus
  • Background in compressible, reacting flows and turbulence is a plus
  • Background in any of: aeroacoustics, rarefied gas dynamics, fluid-structure interaction, is a plus
